What is FARM BILL 2020?

 Hot topics of the issue

- what is FARM BILL 2020?

- why is it introduced?

- pros & cons of it?

-will it really benefit farmers?

-present statistics of the issue?

Intro of the topic

Recently, the Indian government Passed the three form bills were introduced in Parliament on September 14th to replace the ordinance issued during the lockdown period.
The form reforms bill that have led to widespread protest in recent weeks have been passed by the Rajya Sabha and send for approval for president.

FARM BILL 2020 DISCUSSES THESE ISSUES

1., farmers produce trade and Commerce promotion and facilitation ordinance,

- it will allows farmers to sell their produce at places other than the agriculture produce Market Committee (APMC) at regulated mandis. so if a farmer feels a better deal is possible with some other private buyer, then he can take that option instead of selling in the APMC Mandi.

2., farmers empowerment and protection agreement on price assurance and farm service ordinance

-, it provides a Framework for farmers to enter into a contract farming with private players that means signing a contract with company to produce what it wants in written of a remuneration. in this way they can take the saved amount by the the actual owners.

3.,, essential commodities amendment ordinance,

- this bill gives freedom to produce, hold more distribute and supply items that are not mentioned in the essential commodities list .so anyone will be able stock food articles freely without the fear of being prosecuted for hoarding.
The Parliament also removed cereals pulses oilseeds ,edible ,oils ,onions and potatoes from the list of essential commodities.

Present statistics of the issue

During Independence ,about 70% of India's workforce hundred million was employed in agriculture sector and aligned services accounted for around 54% of Indian national income. over the years agriculture contribution of national output declined as  2019 to 2020 it was less than 17 % yes the proportion of India engaged in agriculture has fallen from 70 % to just 55%.

In a gist, these bills will have positive impact as well as negative impact marginally this will help the farmers because in the present scenario the farmers are are jumping from one sector to other sector because of inadequate produce in agriculture, so this type of ordinances are very much helpful for us.
